Generally, slate hearths will be delivered on a pallet with a tail lift truck, these trucks can range from 7.5 tonnes to 18 tonnes, so ordering locally is not only better for the environment, but is more economical for you too. As a rough idea of delivery cost, a local delivery from within your own county could be between £30 and £50. If you order from the other end of the country this could jump to over £100 just for the delivery!
